"Conservation's Power" 2007 Poster Contest Theme

The Henry County SWCD Poster contest takes it's theme from the National Observance of Stewardship Week. This year it is conservation's power.

Eight schools participated in the poster contest; Calhoun, Clinton Christian Academy, Holy Rosary, St. Mary's, Henry Elementary, Davis R-12, Windsor, and Shawnee Mound. We received 285 entries from school children grades 3-6.

These entries were judged and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place ribbon were given to each classroom. The 1st place winners were placed together with other classroom and schools and an overall 1st place and 2nd place winner was chosen.

"Conservation's Power" - 2007 Essay Theme

The Henry County SWCD sponsored the Tenth annual Charles Sander's Essay Contest for High School Students. Every school in the county was asked to participate in the contest.

The winning essay was written by Bret Rodabaugh.

Bret received $100 and a certificate presented by the SWCD. He read the essay and received his award at the Annual Dinner, March 16, 2006.
