The Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a locally organized, self governed, nonprofit organization functioning under Missouri Law, working for the development and improvement of our land and water resources. SWCDs insure that locally elected decision makers originate conservation programs to best address the soil and water resources in the district.

The district is funded in part by the 1/10th cent Parks and Soils Sales Tax. Henry County receives funds from this tax for administration purposes, personnel and cost-sharing with landowners on conservation practices.

The Henry County SWCD cost-shares at approximately 75% of the expense to do any of the below practices. This 75% is figured at the County Average Rate, which is reviewed yearly. We cost-share at 75% of the County Average Rate or 75% of what it costs the landowner whichever is less. If you would like additional information stop by the SWCD Office at 1306 North Second Street in Clinton.
